.AU Domain Names Available Soon!.

Preorder yours now!

Until now, only 3rd level .AU domains were available for registration (e.g. domain.com.au or domain.net.au), however from the 24th of March 2022 you'll be able to register 2nd level .au domains (e.g. domain.au). The new 2nd level domains will initially be available to existing .com.au or .net.au domain holders and will then be publicly available after the priority offering period.

Why is this important to me?

It's important to secure your brand name before someone else registers it and these new domains will also provide a shorter domain which is great for advertising your website on marketing and promotional material.

What are the costs?

The cost to register your .au domain through us is $40 for 1 year. Currently .au domains can only be registered for 1 year at a time.

How do I register my .au domain?

If you currently have an active .com.au or .net.au domain name managed by us & would like to register your new .au domain name you can complete our quick online application form below. You will then receive an invoice for your domain name and we will submit the application on your behalf on the 24th of March when the new domains become available. If you currently manage your domain name through another company we recommend contacting them to submit your application. Alternatively if you provide us your domain's Priority Token by getting it from your current domain registrar, or from auDA directly we can assist.

What happens if I don't register my .au domain?

Once the Priority Application phase closes, any Eligible Priority Applicants that have not submitted an application will be considered as having forfeited their Priority Right. This means other people will be able to register a .au domain name that matches your current .com.au or .net.au domain name.
